At what point do you become numb to all that you've seen?
What time do you change into who you swore you'd never be?
How is it that the world begins to look so clean…
And you as well are no longer what you seem.

Indifference has grown from overexposure to it all,
You let yourself give in – though you say it's not your fault.
Why is it that everyone who sets out to create a path,
Ends up following the very one so many others have?

You try…You give in … You're no longer the same.
A sheep among so many, matching shades within the grey.
Once held so tightly, you've lost the precious gifts you bore...
The golden eyes that shown with light have died like all before.

Is it the struggle to become… or the will to concede…
Shores of the world you once sought …now recede.
When you fight to keep all the thoughts you have suppressed,
You're nothing new in this dark world and just like all the rest.

Everyone changes, for the better they say,
But no one should cover a diamond with clay.
Our souls take us away from the coldness of our minds…
Becoming a grain of sand in the hourglass of time…

Stop trying so hard to fit in and let go …
All the pressures of life are not worth it, you know.
There may be no gilded path to the happiness you crave…
But at least you walked that path - that others dare not brave.
Just an old poem I wrote years back... It still holds true I believe.

Not much else to say, I'll be on my way, now.
