So, I just learned something a little unfair about IndieGoGo - if your page/link/campaign doesn't get enough *read: TONS* of shares/likes EVERY DAY, they boot you from the page. Literally. Like, OFF the search listings. It doesn't matter if you have 1-2-3 weeks left in you campaign, they basically strip you of your public search results. Period. I asked customer service about this and they made up this "everyone's experiences are customized and not all listings are shown to all people".... but that's bull because the listing isn't showing up to ANY of my friends on any browsers at all. It has, in fact, been removed from the main search page.
What does this mean for me and others trying to get funds? We don't. Why? Because the public cannot find us. How unfair is that???
So, that being said, if you could just tweet/share/facebook like, google+ it again this week, I would be grateful. It means a lot to me and in the home stretch, I won't be able to get any new support if my listing doesn't make it back into the search results! It's sad, but true.
I had a lot of good (expert) advice going into this, but no one prepared me for THIS. I knew it was a risk and that there are possibilities campaigns fail, but to be unfairly booted from search results because It's not getting enough likes/shares (Even though it had 100's the first week!), is just wrong. Also, they reset the counter every week, so even if I get 100 this week, it will disappear again next week!
Please warn your friends and family about this practice and be warned that the "GoGo Factor" is a bit of a farce and a mean joke to those of us who are not already celebrities.
